My Awards

Throughout the years, Felix has taken part in numerous competitions. This has resulted in several awards, both for his photography, his writing and his work with nature conservation.

2023

Nordic Nature Photographer of the Year 2023

On 11th February, Felix receives his greatest photography award, so far. His photograph of a lynx in the rain becomes “overall winner” in the Nordic Nature Photo Contest and Felix is awarded the title: Nordic Nature Photographer if the Year 2023. The grand prize is an eight days safari stay at Oltepesi Tentet Camp in the Masai Mara in Kenya, for two people. 

2019

Arne Schmitz Nature Protection Prize 2019

Felix received this wonderful prize by the Falsterbo Nature Protection Organisation. Apart from Felix photography, one reason for their choice was Felix commitment in education in biology of all ages. “Through his teaching of thousands of students, lectures and photo shows for an equal number of participants, he (Felix) has spread knowledge and interest in nature.” 

2018

Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018 (highly commended)

Felix famous photograph of a kingfisher is awarded in the worlds most prestigious wildlife photography competition with almost 50.000 entrants. This photograph was awarded “highly commended” and was one of the 100 photographs that was exhibited around the world. Felix joined the prize ceremony in London in October 2018.

European Wildlife Photographer of the Year Prize 2018 (2nd place)

The very same photograph of a kingfisher is awarded in Europes most prestigious wildlife photography competition with almost 20.000 entrants that is arranged by the GDT (German Nature Photography society). It was awarded “runner up/2nd place” and Felix joined the prize ceremony in Lünen/Germany in October 2018.

European Wildlife Photographer of the Year Prize 2018 (peoples choice)

The same photograph of a kingfisher wins also the “Peoples choice award” in the same competition, that is arranged by the GDT (German Nature Photography society).

2016

August Prize 2016 (nominated)

Felix is nominated for the largest Swedish literature prize “Augustpriset” for his book “Arctic – Life in a world of ice and snow” (in Swedish & Norwegian only) that was written together with Ole Jørgen Liodden and edited by Anna Alinder. The but did not win, but a nomination for the prize is a win itself.

2014

Panda Book of the Year 2015.

Felix is again awarded this prestigious literature prize for his book “In the shadow of the trees” (in Swedish & Norwegian only) that was written together with Tom Schandy and edited by Magnus Stenmarck. The prize is granted by the Swedish World Wildlife Fund WWF and handed out by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. 

2013

Panda Book of the Year 2014.

Felix is awarded this prestigious literature prize for his book “Northern Nights – Life between dusk and dawn” (in Swedish only). The prize is granted by the Swedish World Wildlife Fund WWF and handed out by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
